Our NRI client from Dubai had a clear vision—a sleek, glassy, and structurally ambitious retreat that echoed Dubai’s architectural style, a home he’d look forward to returning to on every visit to India.
Designed as an inward-facing contemporary home, it catered to the family’s urban lifestyle. Convincing them to embrace the lush surroundings was a challenge, but we struck a balance between privacy and openness so we went all in — almost 10 skylights! But skylights come with their own set of challenges, especially in prefab. You need absolute precision to make sure they’re airtight, waterproof, and don’t cause any leakage. We nailed it.
Then comes the insulation part — more sunlight also means more heat inside. So to keep the space naturally cool, we used 150mm mineral wool insulation in the roof. It’s these little things that make a big difference in long-term comfort.” A major feat of this project was achieving a 5m-wide equi-sided triangular frame without intermediate support, ensuring a sleek, seamless structure—it was a true architectural accomplishment.
